Tulipwood is ideal for painted cabinets. It's stable, machines beautifully, and holds paint better than most hardwoods. Oak is better showcased in its natural state, which is why we use it for worktops, shelving, and feature elements where the grain can be seen and appreciated.

Is tulipwood as strong as oak?

While oak is slightly harder, tulipwood is absolutely strong enough for cabinet construction. It's a genuine hardwood, much stronger and more durable than MDF or particle board. Our cabinets are built to last for generations.

Can you match any paint colour?

Yes! We can match any paint brand or colour, from Farrow & Ball and Little Greene to Dulux Heritage and beyond. Bring us a sample or a reference, and we'll create your perfect shade.

What's the difference between hand-painted and primer-ready?

Hand-painted cabinets arrive fully finished in your chosen colour. Primer-ready cabinets are professionally primed and sanded, ready for your decorator to apply the final paint coat on-site. Both options deliver excellent results.

Do you offer soft-close hinges as standard?

We build all our cabinets from tulipwood (American yellow poplar), a sustainably sourced hardwood that's perfect for painted finishes. It machines beautifully, holds paint exceptionally well, and is more stable than many alternatives.

Painted Cabinets

Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Minor chips can be touched up with matching paint. We provide touch-up supplies with every kitchen.

Natural Timber

Oak and walnut elements can be refreshed with occasional oiling. We recommend Danish oil or similar, applied once or twice a year depending on use.

Brass Hardware

Unlacquered brass develops a natural patina over time. Many clients love this aged look. To maintain shine, polish occasionally with a brass cleaner.
